E-SPECIAL NEOLITHIC II

DESCRIPTION

The Dejawu E-Special Neolithic II is one of only two E-Specials in our Neolithic Collection. It is one of the most unique and rare guitars we could possibly build! Its semi-hollow body and three-piece set neck are completely carved by hand from solid, 7500-year-old, prehistoric sinker maple, the best tone wood one could possibly wish for.

A unique combination of nutrients present in the soil has resulted in a stunning natural dark brown color. We applied multiple very thin layers of nitro-cellulose lacquer, carefully hand polished between applications to highlight the natural color and grain, while maintaining the sound characteristics of the wood. The wood has a bright and clear tonal profile and produces a tight, focused sound with excellent note definition, making it ideally suited for genres that require precision and articulation. The exceptional age of the wood enhances all these characteristics significantly, producing a truly unique sound.

This guitar is outfitted with a Schaller* GTM bridge, a Stop Tailpiece and M6 Vintage tuners. The body and neck are trimmed with a seven-ply binding from ‘young maple’, a classy contrast to its older cousin. Light as a feather, including the electronics and hardware, it only weighs a mere 2900 grams.

PICKUPS & WIRING

The German custom pickup builder Harry Häussel* built the 1959 Custom+ humbuckers, the overwound version of the 1959 Bridge pickup, which delivers more output and features different polepieces that provide more treble.

The E-Special Neolithic II is equipped with a Free-Way* 3x3-05 six-position toggle switch, offering many sound options to explore. With the switch in position 1, 2 and 3 you’ll find the standard humbucker sounds. In position 4, 5 and 6 single coils sounds are available. In this way, there are many sound options without having a lot of extra buttons on the guitar, ensuring a clean look.
