Paul Davids - Guitar Teacher/ Youtuber

"So, 7000-year-old wood, does it really sound better? Does it sound different? I don't know, I don't really care to be honest. It’s all about what it does to a player, because just knowing it's so old makes it very enticing to play and that's all you want from an instrument. It has to make sure it gets the most out of a player and ................. surely that's what this guitar is doing to me".

Hands down, this Dejawu T - Ultimate Cherry Burst guitar is the most beautiful Semi-Acoustic Electric guitar I ever held in my hands and played. Letter to Santa already written! (..) It has two Häussel pickups on it. But check this out! The Pick up selector switch looks like any selector on a Les Paul etc but it's more like a stick shift gear lever of a car, as it has 6 pickup configurations and not just 3. Then the next surprise is the tone knob is a push/pull affair, where you switch between humbucker and Single coil. Giving you yet another 6 pickup selections. Total of 12, with all different sounds and tones!! Incredible beyond belief #dejawuguitars

“Visiting Dejawu Guitars. Handmade with a careful eye and ear for sound and materials. Unique collaboration between Derk Jan and his Chinese partner. The passion and attention for these instruments can be felt and heard. Check it out!” https://www.stefwoestenenk.nl/

This should actually be exhibited in a prestigious museum, and with high exception be lent to the elite of Dutch guitarists. A true masterpiece.

Jan was of one the exhibitor at the 2019 Guitar Summit in Mannheim, Germany. He has a unique business with DejaWu Guitars where he builds very cool high quality guitars in collaboration with a Chinese team. This is not your typical Chinese business producing entry level instrument. We are talking here about great instruments, very well built and finished.

“Hello, I was very happy to get to know you! You are, like your guitars, very sympathetic. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to be able to market the guitars well because they are incredibly good. So that the guitar maker is also a good master in my eyes, because success is well deserved.”

"The guitars are rated very positively at trade fairs, trade magazines and, last but not least, by users themselves. These guitars have a beautiful and very distinctive curved shape. Hand-cut from solid wood with the utmost precision."

“Easily Custom shop level”

For real! Rarely do I walk away from a guitar and think "What a fantastic product". […] This instrument from the Chinese hand builder Wu Dongming can only be compared with the top from the Fender Customshop, John Suhr or John Page guitars. Yes, I know. The guitars from Page and Suhr are considerably more expensive, however certainly not any better. You may say that in several respects this instrument from China surpasses these top builders. The wood and construction, hardware and electronics all make sure, that every note is deep, and remains leveled and elongated. The semi-acoustic T-Ultimate has important nuance differences, which makes it exceptional.”

In the relevant forums like Jazzguitar.be as well as among connoisseurs of the Far Eastern archtop builder scene the mysterious Mr.Wu is no stranger. He has been an insiders' insider tip for many years and is appreciated as a first-class guitar builder whose exhibits can survive alongside the local Premium archtops. Especially musicians and collectors of the US scene have added one or more Mr.Wu archtops to their pool of expensive jazz guitars.
